Briarcliff Elementary wants to recognize as many of its wonderful students as possible for both positive Character Traits as well as through student's dedicated hardwork.
Character Traits: Character education is an important part of the Wake County Public School System's curriculum. Students will study the character traits of respect, responsibility, courage, good judgment, integrity, kindness, perseverance, and self-discipline during the year.
Teachers select one student from their class, who displays the character trait being studied that month to be the 'Terrific Kid' of the month. The selected children receive a signed certificate with their character trait to take home. In addition a special 'Terrific Kids' breakfast is held for each character trait where parents are invited to celebrate with their children. Group pictures of all the children selected for each character trait are displayed in the main hall for the duration of the school year.

Briarcliff Wall of Fame: An important goal in Briarcliff's School Improvement Plan is to provide more opportunities for students to receive school wide recognition. Part of achieving this goal was the creation of the Briarcliff Wall of Fame. At the end of each month, all teachers will select one student who consistently demonstrates one of the following 6 classroom habits:
Works Hard-Best Effort
On Task-Good Listener
Most Improved
Above and Beyond
Helpful
Quality Work
The selected children's name are displayed for the month on the Wall of Fame located across from the cafeteria. Selected students receive a "Wall of Fame" button for the first week of the month to let others (including parents) know of their achievement. In addition, the selected students can invite someone special to celebrate with them with lunch on the stage the second Thursday of the month.
Thank you for your continued support of our school!
