School hours are from 8:20am-3:00pm with a 2:00pm dismissal every Wednesday.  If your child is not enrolled in the Before School Program, he/she needs to be dropped off at school between 7:50-8:15am. Children are tardy after 8:20am and should report to the office before going to class.

At the end of the day, school dismissal is 3:00pm except on Wednesdays which is a 2:00pm dismissal.  If your child is not in the After School Program, all children should be in the process of being transported home.  For carpool, students should be picked up no later than 15 minutes after school dismissal.

Recently, the Wake County Board of Education approved a school schedule for the 2009-10 school year that allows for more collaboration and time for Professional Learning Community (PLC) sessions.

Mark your calendar for these important changes!

To meet the state requirements of 180 days of instruction and 1,000 hours of instruction, 10 minutes have been added to the school day to make up for the time used in the PLCs.  You can view bell schedules online at www.wcpss.net/2009-10-bell-schedule.html.

Briarcliff's new hours will be 8:20am - 3:00pm with a 2:00pm dismissal every Wednesday (Unless your child is in the Before School Program, school doors open at 7:50 am)

• Every Wednesday, all Wake County Schools will release one hour early to allow for PLC meetings 
• Six early-release days are also included in 2009-10. All Wake County schools will dismiss 2.5 hours early.  Briarcliff's early release days occur on the following Wednesdays at 12:30 pm:
